BODY WORLDS & The Mirror of Time presents the evolutionary complexity and elegance of the human body. At once lyrical and scientific, this mesmerising exhibition—featuring more than 200 authentic human specimens transformed through Plastination—shows the form, function, beauty and potential of the human body.
"The Mirror of Time" the third chapter of Gunther von Hagens' anatomical opus, The Human Saga, offers visitors profound insights into the amazing human life cycle and the phenomenon of ageing.
This special feature on human development shows the arc of aging—from the first spark of life at conception to its natural progression in the womb, from childhood, adolescence, and youth to adulthood and old age.
Exhibition designer, Dr. Angelina Whalley shows the body living through time—at its most radiant, and as it changes, grows, matures, peaks, and finally wanes.
At every stage of the life cycle, the human body experiences predictable changes and milestones, as well as remarkable age-defying states attributed to flukes, genes, lifestyle choices, and personal improvement.
From child prodigies to robust centenarians, "The Mirror of Time" presents our bodies and their journey through time, in the context of historical insights, evolutionary factors, and the life cycles of other species.
The Mirror of Time inspires visitors with incredible feats and cautionary tales, as well as the latest findings in ageing research, vitality, and longevity. Regardless of age, The Mirror of Time will resonate with everyone who sees it.
Gunther von Hagens' BODY WORLDS are the only public anatomical exhibitions that stem from an established body donation program, and the only exhibitions that use donated bodies. BODY WORLDS exhibitions have opened to critical praise and public acclaim in 47 cities across Europe, Asia, and North America, and have been seen by more than 25 million people.
