London,
Description: Royal Marine Sean Power returned to Afghanistan for the second time in October, this time armed only with a camera - thanks to the support of The Royal British Legion. Marine Power, now earning a reputation as a photojournalist, will showcase his first exhibit of the British Armed Forces on operations in Afghanistan. Having initially been inspired to become a photojournalist by what he saw as a lack of “real images” in the media while serving as a Royal Marine commando, Mne Power returned to the battlefield with the aim of capturing "the authentic face of conflict." The exhibition features pictures taken while he was embedded with the Armed Forces on forward operations in Lashkar Gah. Mne Power served for six years in 40 Commando Royal Marines, with operational tours of Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan. Now a Marines reservist, he studies photojournalism at London College of Communications with The Royal British Legion's assistance.
