Pixelated: Antony Gormley with his cast-iron figure, Resolution
A statue by Angel Of The North sculptor Antony Gormley will be unveiled near Fleet Street this week.
Resolution, a cast-iron figure, is made of small cubes, giving it a pixelated appearance.
It will take centre stage in a £2 million partpedestrianisation of the Shoe Lane quarter by the City of London Corporation, paid for by the City of London and Goldman Sachs.
Wednesday's unveiling comes after Gormley's successful Blind Light show. Victor Callister, City street scene manager, says the public has "an appetite" for such contemporary artwork.

The public are ready for Mr. Gormley's latest offering. We were up on the South Bank and stopped to enjoy watching people on a hottish (It was never hot this past summer) day to watch the sprays of water jets and those that bothered to wait and see stood a good chance of not getting wet! The people watching was an equal experience to the doing of it.
Having seen his show at the Hayward, we were doubly amused. So I look forward to encountering his latest on one of my wanderings around London! Maybe I'll know where it is by then so I can show my cousins!
