Restoration: The Cutty Sark was ravaged by fire

Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer is lending his collection of photographs taken on the set of Pirates Of The Caribbean to raise money for the Cutty Sark.

The exhibition of more than 30 pictures opens today at the Cutty Sark visitor centre in Greenwich.

Revenue from the £3 entry fee will go towards the appeal to restore the historic ship, which was ravaged by fire in May. The vessel's trustees admitted this week they need another £14 million to continue the work.

Oscar-winner Bruckheimer, whose films includes Top Gun, Enemy Of The State and Black Hawk Down, was visiting London when the blaze happened.

His photographs were taken during filming of the third movie in the trilogy, Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End, which is released on DVD next week.

He said: "I love taking pictures, which I've been doing since I was six. One of my favourite things about being a film producer is it allows me to indulge in my passion for photography on movie sets."

Julia Parker of the Cutty Sark Trust said: "The photos really capture the romance and adventure of the sea, something that is so very close to all of us."

• The show is open 11am-5pm daily until next Friday.
