Now in its fifth year Sue Ryder Care's nationwide annual art competition, Art Liberating Lives is open and has announced the entry call for submissions.

The competition exhibits the work of artists of all abilities at London's prestigious Mall Galleries. Art Liberating Lives invites works in all mediums in the theme liberation.

Judges, including Elizabeth Meek and Susan Ryder, will chose selected artworks to be shown in an exclusive December exhibition.

Award winning artist, Arina Gordienko, will be the face of the 2009 event. Arina submitted work in the 2008 competition which was exhibited at the Mall Gallery. Arina explained, “I was attracted to use my art to support Sue Ryder Care as I know first hand how important and valued quality end of life care is. I lost my brother Alexander, to Cancer. It was an incredibly difficult time.”

The money raised will help Sue Ryder Care continue to deliver quality care for people living with Cancer, Stroke, Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis, Dementia, Huntington's Disease, Parkinson's Disease and Motor Neurone Disease.

To take part, submit a high quality digital photograph (JPEG) of your artwork along with a completed application form online at www.suerydercare.org.
