There are 40 million sheep in New Zealand, and they're pissed off. That's the official tagline for Jonathan King's comedy horror which has a farmer conducting unwise genetic experiments, a couple of environmental activists releasing one of the unfortunate lambs from the farmer's lab and everyone battling their way to safety from blood-thirsty sheep.

At the centre of it all is a young man who's terrified of even normal farm animals and is trying to buy out the farmer before it is too late. Cheap and cheerful, Black Sheep has a certain ridiculous vigour, some funny lines and a plethora of special effects.

Frankly, the sheep act better than the humans. But you don't expect too much virtuoso thesping from this sort of thing.
