Doomsday foretold in Collapse

Michael Ruppert, an ex-CIA operative and LA policeman, ought to be carrying a placard saying "The End of the World is Nigh". Instead, in Chris Smith’s film, he sits on a chair, smokes continually and tells us exactly why the end of the world as we know it is nearer than even religious fanatics think. It’s about oil, you see. We have limited stocks available — the Saudis know it, Obama knows it, only nobody’s telling.

Ruppert has written a book on the subject and seems to know what he’s talking about — but now he’s virtually given up, and lives quietly with his dog wondering how he’s going to pay his rent. He cries with frustration at one point before taking out another fag. You may cry with him. If he’s even half right, the world our children and grandchildren will inherit doesn’t bear thinking about.
