Fiery date in London for Uma Thurman

Actress Uma Thurman enjoyed an early Valentine's date with Colin Firth and six hunky firemen.

The Hollywood star was in London last night for the premiere of her new romantic comedy The Accidental Husband.

She plays a radio show host who has to choose between English fiance Firth and a New York firefighter.

Thurman 37, arrived in Leicester Square in a London fire engine.

"I'm here with my firemen friends - life's tough," she joked as she posed with the crew.

And she was full of praise for her leading man.

"Colin is charming and wonderful. I had the best time with him and I would love to work with him again," she said.

"He's completely smooth and he has a dry humour which is fabulous."

The Kill Bill star is said to be dating Elle Macpherson's ex, financier Arpad Busson, but would not be drawn on her real plans for Valentine's Day.

"I can't discuss my personal life too much or it would become rather impersonal," she said.

The premiere raised money for The Fire Service National Benevolent Fund.
