Not worth getting hitched

Jim (Zachary Knighton) and Grace (Sophia Bush) zoom off for a fun road trip. Unfortunately they hit someone (Sean Bean) on a dark and rainy night and Grace refuses to stop and help. Such moral bankruptcy never comes cheap: the man they left high and dry turns out to be a psycho determined to make them pay.

In the 1986 original, Rutger Hauer chased down Jennifer Jason Lee and C Thomas Howell - and we were scared silly. Here, only Bean brings energy to the screen, which, given what he's up against, shows a commitment the project hardly deserves. Former music promo director Dave Meyers proves incapable of setting his own pace and is devoid of a sense of humour. Most painful, however, is watching Bush searching for something approaching a facial expression.
