Short and not very sweet

Critic Rating
Reader Rating 0

The only point in favour of this vulgar comedy starring Steve Zahn is its length — it is mercifully short, if not very sweet.

Zahn plays the hopeless son of a popular TV wildlife show presenter trying to persuade the powers that be to continue the show under his aegis despite falling ratings, even in its 3am slot.

But he and his mates (Allen Covert, Justin Long and Jonah Hill) are so incompetent that absolutely no one wants to know. Ernest Borgnine appears as his cameraman and why he took the part I’ll never know. But at least he raises a small smile. One or two guffaws apart, there’s absolutely nothing else in the movie to detain you.
