Story of a scared adolescent

This German film from actor-director Detlev Buck centres on a 15-year-old boy who, with his mother, is turfed out of their rich home, landing up in a squalid flat and bullied as a middle-class interloper.

Teaming up with two friends, he robs his former home, becomes a drug runner, falls for a Muslim girl and ends up committing a senseless murder.

David Kross is excellent as the boy, driven this way and that by circumstances, but really he is just a scared adolescent. And the punk, hip-hop and electronica sound-track heightens the sense of being in an alien world.

Tough Enough
