Vastly popular sci-fi novel comes to the big screen

Mamoni Hosoda’s anime feature, taken from a vastly popular sci-fi novel about a high school pupil who discovers she can leap through time, is a beautifully made and cheerfully dramatised account of the very best way to avoid teenage angst.

You just go backwards and forwards in time so that you don’t fail that awkward quiz and matters of life and death to a young mind become easy.

A pity the faces are as expressionless as the backgrounds are full of splendid detail.
