Cherry Ghost
The Borderline, W1
Manchester-based singer-songwriter whose old-fashioned, string-drenched debut single, Mathematics, has strong echoes of the smooth sounds of Richard Hawley. It's out on 9 April, hopefully the first of many gems to come. (020 7734 2095). Tonight, 7pm
Stiff Little Fingers
Astoria, WC2
Since they reunited in 1987 the Belfast punk band have never stopped. Their current tour marks the 30th anniversary of their formation, and this is the last show. (020 8963 0940). Tonight, 7pm.
The Good, the Bad and the Queen
Hammersmith Palais, W6
The last weekend of gigs before the wrecking ball swings and one more renowned London venue is lost. The Fall play the last-ever gig on Sunday, but this is a more appropriate farewell, given that Paul Simonon of the Clash plays bass in Damon Albarn's latest project. You never know, they might even do (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais. (0870 154 4040). Sat 31 Mar, 7pm.
The Rakes
Brixton Academy, SW9
The London quartet's recent second album, Ten New Messages, is a distinct step on for them, bringing politics and particularly the London bombings into their grim tales of city life. Thannkfully, they've also remembered the tunes. (0870 771 2000). Sat 31 Mar, 7pm.
Fall Out Boy
Hammersmith Apollo, W6
Sensitive Chicago rockers who, like fellow emo figureheads My Chemical Romance, have expanded their sound on latest album Infinity on High and seen their sales figures expand accordingly. They've formed unlikely unions with rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West, but the crunching guitars and lengthy song titles remain. Brixton Academy, SW9 (0870 771 2000) Sun 1 Apr, 7pm; (0870 400 0700) Mon 2 Apr, 7pm.
