Having frightened the fawns with their Friday night headline set, North London's denim demons regrouped the next day to provide an instrumental accompaniment for a jousting display.
Sword fights were heralded with Black Sabbath's Paranoid; Deep Purple's Black Night was used to soundtrack the entrance of an evil black knight.
Previous appearances have seen them revive The Osmonds' Crazy Horses and Yvonne Elliman's Saturday Night Fever classic If I Can't Have You - the latter a tribute to drummer Phil Martini's disco-dancing uncle Guiseppe.
If the quartet's choice of covers signals their aesthetic - loud, fun, in love with the 1970s - then their own songs reveal them to be modern masters of the weekend warrior anthem. Released on Monday, new EP Come On Baby is a shotgun marriage between AC/DC power boogie and dual Thin Lizzy axes.
Now that mainstream metal is dominated by cookie-cutter emo bands, there are fewer and fewer kick-ass heavy rock bands with groove and melody (as opposed to ironic chancers such as Wolfmother).
Road-hardened by tours with Nashville Pussy, The Datsuns and Status Quo, the Dragons also have stage presence to burn: witness frontman Steve Lomax's gregarious banter, guitarist Mal Bruk's foot-on-monitor poise and bassist Mathias Stady's Teutonic bottom end.
Recording commitments in America mean that this will be their last British gig of the year. A good time is guaranteed.
