So there are arena-fillers Jamiroquai revisiting their early days with a set of old material in the tiny Jazz Cafè (Wednesday), James Brown foregoing his usual funk workout for a more jazzy set (Roundhouse, Friday) and Kasabian attempting to lift themselves from loutishness by playing with the BBC Concert Orchestra (Roundhouse, Saturday). A series of music films will add even more variety to a long weekend that can also be experienced on TV, radio and the internet. Here are five highlights:

THE WHO

Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey premiere highlights from the first new Who album since 1982, including ambitious "mini-opera" Wire & Glass.

BASEMENT JAXX
KOKO, Sunday 29 October The carnivalesque dance duo's latest album is loosely linked around fictional radio station Crazy Itch. Here they bring the concept to life with the Crazy Itch Club, which should recall their early days as pub DJs.

ARENA: PETE DOHERTY
