More than 80 artists will perform next month at the five-day, eight-venue event, founded last year to do for rock and pop what the Proms have done for classical music. The BBC will broastcast the event live on radio, BBC2 and online.
The acts - all regulars on the festival circuit - will take part in unique collaborations rather than performing their standard sets.
A BBC spokesman said the Electric Proms was "designed to create new moments in music" with "each performance seeking to create something different" through fresh collaborations or new material.
Post-punk outfit Kaiser Chiefs will line up with Grammy award-winning film composer David Arnold, best known for his work on Bond films including the recent Casino Royale.
He said: "Hopefully we can throw away the rule book of what you can or can't do with a rock band and a bunch of musicians that you may not expect to see on stage with them."
Music producer Mark Ronson will collaborate with Paul Weller, Sean Lennon, Lily Allen, Terry Hall, Santo Gold, Candie Payne and Tim Burgess on a reworking of his No 2 album Version, backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
Both Kaiser Chiefs and Ronson will perform at the Camden Roundhouse, as will Jamie Cullum.
Icelandic band Sigur Ros will premiere their film Heima at Cecil Sharp House. Other acts are due to perform at the Barfly, Koko, Electric Ballroom, Jazz cafe and Dingwalls from 24 to 28 October. Tickets go on sale on Friday 12 September from bbc.co.uk/electricproms
