Kitchen W8
Too long and drawn out but very entertaining with excellent special effects
This is a peculiar play and does not work for me. Some of it is very funny but there are real flaws
Alex has a strong powerful voice and was faultless, she is far better now than she was on the X-Factor

Sing it: John Lennon fans croon away in the latest Candice Breitz exhibition
You never leave a Candice Breitz exhibition without a smile on your face, or at least a tune ringing in your ear - however mangled that tune became in the mouths of those she films.
Her latest film installation features 25 ardent John Lennon fans giving it their all as they croon, gurn and fumble their way through Lennon's solo album Plastic Ono Band. Although it's meant to be an ensemble effort, there's little in the way of unity: each fan is featured on a separate screen, seemingly existing in an entirely self-defined space. One man looks as if he's been possessed by the spirit of David Byrne circa Psycho Killer, another emotes like the cheesiest of balladeers. Just like those so-embarrassing-it's-brilliant early X Factor auditions, you wonder where self-delusion ends and reality begins. But the really nice thing about this work is that there's a lot of heart in it.
Elsewhere, Breitz explores the outer regions of fandom with three billboard-sized photographs in which she brings together groups of Marilyn Manson, Abba and Iron Maiden fans, each appropriately kitted out. The lengths to which people go to submerge their own identities while apparently 'asserting their individuality' has to be one of life's great ironies.
