An awesome and ridiculous film that leaves you thrilled beyond the point of your natural endurance
2012
Theatre
The show has suddenly become quite wonderful, and the galvanising factor is the terrific stage debut of Melanie C
Blood Brothers
Music
The British pop music industry may be eating itself but if Muse are the pick of what it can offer the world in 2010 then British music is in rude health indeed
Muse
I was smitten by both Gilberts enormous luxuriant moustache and the intelligence and nuance of this highly entertaining play
I totally recommend Babbo to anyone who is looking for really good and traditional Italian food
Always been a fan but never seen them live. I was ecstatic to be part of this epic event. WOW!

No more sticky carpets: The Beehive has reinvented itself as a gastropub
This pub's been closed for the best part of two years now and it's latest incarnation on reopening is something of a shock: it's gone upmarket. And gone is the operative word. Gone is the sticky carpet. Gone are the cosy booths and pub tables. Gone are the tellys. Gone is the massive bar in the centre of the room. Gone... well, you get the picture. It's altogether more an eating place with drink.
Though that's not to say it's all gone bad. They apparently brew their own beer, Beehive Ale and have a selection of beers from Greenwich's Meantime available too. We say 'apparently', as the Beehive Ale was off when we were in last - we'll have to pop in another time to try it.
Interestingly, the wine list is all French - not a new world wine in sight. The menu is an interesting mix of traditional and modern cooking with a selection of mezes and Thai fishcakes (very nice) amongst the choices.
Don't get us wrong, the old Beehive had it's good points, but this one has plenty to recommend it. Though getting asked if you're eating or drinking when you come through the door could be a bit off-putting, particularly as the drinkers appeared to be exiled to the back corner behind the bar. That said, the staff are very friendly and table service is a nicely continental touch.

'The Beehive takes a turn for the worse' more like!
- Eddie, London
A truly awful pub. Terrible layout, poor selection of beers, badly kept. Very poor food menu. Complete pretentious place without any merit.

I used to drink here nigh on every day. Never again. Overpriced and poncey. I was hoping it would attract so little custom it would fold but as I know better than most, Marylebone has plenty of wealthy idiots that will keep it going.
It would be better razed to the ground in my opinion.
- Steve, Marylebone
The Beehive was miles better when it was a pub!
