Comfortable and cosy at the Mason Arms

Mason Arms

16 Oct 2009

This is a small Hall & Woodhouse pub with their great beers - Tanglefoot, Badger and Sussex etc.

With its open (albeit gas) fires and tongue and groove boarding up to the ceiling, it's a comfortable and cosy boozer.

This pub is definitely worth a visit for any pub aficionado, it does traditional grub, has friendly locals and prompt and friendly service.

It's also got a sort of snug if you want to get away from the rest of the bar, but you have to be lucky enough for it to be free.

One word of warning: it does tend to fill up with tourists in the summer, but there should be plenty of room for all (there's even a couple of seats upstairs).

Highly commendable pub, which would have been even better on our most recent visit, if the toilets had been up to scratch. Nonetheless, worth a visit if you're in the area.

FEATURES real ales, function room available, outdoor seating

Never liked the lagers in here but being a local to the area,it's passable.
Also worth noting that beneath this pub is a 'secret' tunnel to Marble Arch used to access the Tyburn, the hanging spot.
