Large range of cocktails at The Establishment

The Establishment
Stylish: The Establishment

16 Dec 2009

The Establishment is a modern bar and restaurant smack bang opposite Parson's Green tube station.

When we say 'modern', we mean heavily stylised retro 1970's. The chairs, lamps and wallpaper are all distinctly chosen for effect and it is all a little too knowing for its own good; a photo of DCI Gene Hunt makes that quite clear.

If they wanted to recreate the 70's, there are a few rough pubs they could have taken inspiration from. No Babycham and Advocaat here though.

Instead you'll find a large range of cocktails - indeed they have an in-house mixologist - along with a few premium lagers. More of the floor area is given over to eating, but there is enough of a bar area to avoid making you feel you're drinking in a restaurant. Speaking of which, the food is modern British pub grub, priced at £10.50 upwards; the burger is a rather expensive £11, for example. Although we'd prefer to make a beeline for the White Horse or Duke if we're in the area, the Establishment is good at what it sets out to do.

NEAREST STATION: Parsons Green station
FEATURES: disabled facilities, live music, outdoor seating, separate restaurant
