Signing off: But Gerry could be back with a dating guide

The latest housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house wants to publish a guide to dating.

Gerry, 31, from South London told Channel 4 he did not want to become a celebrity after leaving the house on Friday.

He said: "Hopefully I will publish my book on dating. It's only a small paperback, but it could be a success because I spent 10 years talking to women to get all the ideas.

"I really, really hope that I can get a stable career by popular writing for a wide audience, because I don't want to be a celebrity out of Big Brother, but I would love a chance to speak about what I spent all those years at university learning.

"If that means publishing or doing obscure television programmes, then I'm up for it, even if it's as an advisor.

"I want a career out of it, not to become famous - there's a big difference."

The contestants in the Big Brother house are learning to be well-behaved ladies and gentlemen in a bid to win a luxury shopping budget.

Housemates attended Big Brother's Finishing Academy where they were taught how to speak properly.

They were each given sentences and words to learn for the elocution part of the task.

Housemates were given manuals revealing the secrets of high society living to much amusement.

"Men should never be seated when a woman is standing," quoted Ziggy.

"Does that mean every time I'm standing, you have to stand up?" asked Amanda.

Kara-Louise said: "I don't see how we can be ladies of the manor while we're doing piles of washing up and cooking en masse."

Housemates will gather in the living area to watch the next part of the Big Brother Finishing Academy lessons.

They will then be told they have one hour before being called individually to the Diary Room to be tested on pronunciation and elocution.
