Chanelle and Laura go head-to-head
04 July 2007
Big Brother called the housemates to the sofas after yesterday's task and told them the news.
Laura's name was read out first. "I'm glad I'm go..." she began, before biting her lip.

Chanelle barely reacted when she discovered that she had been chosen to face eviction on Friday.
"The game is on," said Laura. Charley Uchea, who had nominated Chanelle saying "she kind of irritates me", grinned at the news.
Earlier in the Diary Room Chanelle confessed to Big Brother that she was angry with fellow nominee Laura and generally unhappy in the house. "I've lost interest in anything she has to say since I found out she's so manipulative," she said. "She speaks in code and talks behind my back. If she's willing to do that then I'm not bothered - but I am bothered."
She added: "I can't take it anymore. She's driving me insane. I don't trust anyone apart from Brian and Zak [Ziggy]. I can't be bothered with it any more."
Both Laura and Chanelle had nominated each other to face the public vote this week and each received five nominations overall.
Carole Vincent, Tracey Barnard, Ziggy Lichman and Charley each received three nominations, Gerry Stergiopoulos received two, and Brian Belo and Nicky Maxwell received one nomination each.
The housemates were perplexed that there were only two candidates up for the public vote.
"I wasn't expecting two," said Carole. "From five people to two," said Gerry, bemused. "The nominations have been honed in," continued Carole. "Twenty-six votes..."
"...And only two people up?" finished Gerry. "The great mystery is why you're not up," he added to Carole, who has received more nominations than any other housemate.
Jonathan Durden left the Big Brother house in the early hours of yesterday morning after being told that his grandmother had died. Programme makers ruled that his nominations of Laura and Chanelle would still count towards deciding who would face the public vote.
The housemates spent yesterday engrossed in a task based on the Seven Deadly Sins. Charley was the only housemate to fail her part of the task. She had been given the sin of wrath and told to stop swearing and arguing.
While the others enjoyed a party last night, Charley was banished to the Sin Bin and could only watch through the window.
The housemates were given rubber and leather outfits to wear for the party which included chocolate fountain, death by chocolate cake and pink champagne.
After five weeks of votes, Chanelle has been nominated five times and Laura has had seven votes, whereas Carole has received 14 nominations and Tracey has had 12.
Twins Amanda and Sam Marchant are the only housemates never to have received nominations.
