Housemates take sides in eviction battle
05 July 2007
A public vote will decide if Chanelle Hayes or Laura Williams leaves in tomorrow's eviction.
Yesterday the two girls were locked in a bedroom together while the rest of the housemates were paired up and told to make a banner showing their support for either Laura or Chanelle.
Laura won the house vote with three banners compared to two for Chanelle. Liam McGough and Sam Marchant, Charley Uchea and Gerry Stergiopoulos and Nicky Maxwell and Tracey Barnard made banners to support the 23-year-old nanny from South Wales.
Chanelle, 19, a student from Yorkshire, received the support of Brian Belo and Amanda Marchant and her boyfriend Ziggy Lichman who was paired with Carole Vincent.
Bookmaker Paddy Power has made Laura the 1/5 favourite to leave tomorrow. Victoria Beckham fan Chanelle is the 3/1 outsider. Liam remains the favourite to win Big Brother at odds of 11/4, followed by Brian at 3/1.
Twins Amanda and Sam have so far received no nominations from their fellow housemates but it looks like that could be set to end. Last night, the 19-year-old social work students were the topic of conversation in the living room.
Tracey said: "They're playing a tight game." Charley added: "They play like they're innocent; they're not that naive. They're lazy and they eat a lot. Lately they have been so girly."
Nicky agreed: "They're not that innocent. Amanda's getting well flirty with Liam."
Meanwhile Brian and Gerry won the house a hamper of goodies after Big Brother challenged them to name an animal starting with every letter of the alphabet.
Brian named 26 animals, inventing a xyloclitosaurus, while Gerry had to make a noise for each, impressing Big Brother with his enthusiasm for the task.
Paddy Power is refunding all stakes placed on housemate Jonathan Durden who left the house on Tuesday after being told of his grandmother's death.
