Liam chosen to join Ziggy in halfway house
01 August 2007
Both Big Brother favourites may now be up for eviction at the end of the week.
New contestant Shanessa Reilly won the Jack-in-the-Box Task to earn a place in the Big Brother house and picked Liam to leave.
She explained her decision to expel the 23-year-old tree surgeon: "He was nice to me and all that, but we didn't gel. He's a lovely man and Amy really really likes him, and apparently he likes Amy, and Ziggy's really fond of Liam."
The contestants had earlier been told that the Halfway housemates would face the public eviction vote from Thursday.
A spokeswoman from Big Brother said: "Liam and Ziggy could potentially be out on Friday." It is not yet clear how this week's public vote will be organised. Shanessa, 27, is the latest Halfway house member to cross over to the main house. David Parnaby and Kara-Louise Horne were picked to join the main Big Brother house on Monday.
The single mother from Cardiff was mortified to learn that Liam and the other housemates had seen her make her decision.
But she soothed the affable Liam, by suggesting that Halfway housemate Amy was keen to spend more time with him.
"Amy really likes you," she told him. "She's got good taste, hasn't she?" Liam joked. Shanessa added: "It'll make her day when she sees you!"
Ziggy had volunteered to leave the main house after his tumultuous relationship with Chanelle Hayes ended and she left the show.
Chanelle appeared on Big Brother's Little Brother last night and denied the couple had had sex on the programme.
"No. Sorry to disappoint you. No. My mum would have kicked me out of my house," she told host Dermot O'Leary.
Asked whether she thought she could have gone on to win the contest had she stayed in the house, she said: "I don't think so. I couldn't live there with Ziggy anymore."
The 19-year-old from Wakefield looked shocked and embarrassed as she was shown footage of her stormy on-screen romance.
"I mean I thought I were quite stable at times," she remarked of the footage of the couples' many arguments. She said that she still cares about Ziggy "a little", but said she did not think he cares about her. "I don't think he ever did," she said.
Later on Big Brother's Big Mouth she appeared with arch rival Charley Uchea who insisted that she had never fancied Ziggy. However, she suggested the the boyband hunk may have had his eye on her and described a task that the pair had completed where he stared into her eyes.
Chanelle retorted: "They told you to stare in each other's eyes, it was part of the test."
