Paranoid housemates wound up over fake eviction
10 July 2007
Nicky Maxwell and Charley Uchea are both convinced they will face the public vote, while Ziggy Lichman has been trying on his eviction outfit. But little do they know the chosen housemates will be facing a fake eviction, with the one chosen by the public getting to find out what their housemates said about them before being rejoining the house.
Big Brother attempted to lighten the mood a little by giving the group a soap opera task in honour of fake "Aussie" housemate Pauline, who is British actress Thaila Zucchi.
Each housemate was assigned a different role in the soap, and given just an hour to rehearse before putting on a performance.
Unsurprisingly, Charley objected to being given the character Dingo the dog. She said: "I'm not a happy dog at all. This is so humiliating being a dog - me, a dog!"
It looks like the stars of stage and screen can rest easy after last night's performance, however.
Liam McGough showed his sensitive side in rehearsals when he sighed "Oh Kyleen, you're my runner bean," reciting a poem to his love and finishing with "Right, that's the feeling and the sentiment done, yeah?".
In the house's own soap opera, it seems the love affair between Ziggy and Chanelle Hayes, which ended on Sunday, could be back on again.
In a late-night chat the couple lay on the sofa as Ziggy tried to explain his behaviour.
He said: "The biggest thing that I felt was that we were appreciating each other less and less." Chanelle went quiet as he told her how strange it was not sharing a bed with her anymore.
After several days of bickering that culminated in their bust-up, Ziggy said he felt the reason they didn't value each other was because they saw each other every day.
Meanwhile, in a chat with Tracey Barnard in the caravan, man-hater Nicky said she was "convinced" she would be up for eviction.
She said: "I'm convinced I'm up and I'm going home. Just because I haven't been particularly happy last week.
"I don't think I've taken my moods out or been moody with anybody but I just feel like I haven't been as bubbly or having as much fun as everyone else and obviously that comes across as a bit moody.
"If they've portrayed me as a miserable cow...I haven't gone around in a whirlwind of a mood snapping and saying I haven't had a good day."
In a conversation with Brian Belo and Gerry Stergiopoulos, Charley also spoke of her nomination fears. She said she did not want to go yet, stating that the public would vote her out as soon as she was up for eviction.
Fake housemate Thalia/Pauline seems to be getting the others on side after their initial bout of suspicion.
Yesterday afternoon she visited the diary room, where she is allowed to slip out of character, panicking that she was unable to keep up the pretence.
She said: "I don't know what I'm doing. I'm scared of speaking with a louder voice, because I'm nervous.
"I can see Tracey is suspicious of me, so I'm a bit scared to talk to her, because I don't want to mess up around her.
"And Carole as well. But obviously I have to talk to them, I can't run away otherwise they'll get more suspicious."
A mischievous Big Brother ordered the former pop singer to use her acting talents to flirt with the boys in the house, with the fake complaining that would make all of the girls in the house hate her.
