Ken still casts a long shadow over Boris's City Hall
As this week's Evening Standard poll dramatically showed, the outcome of May's mayoral election is too close to call between Boris Johnson and his Labour rival Ken Livingstone. The two principal mayoral contenders may seem like polar opposites - the charming Etonian chancer and the nasal newt-lover from a south London comp. They may have very different policies on fares, policing or the mayoral precept. But in reality, if Ken does get back, will much really change at City Hall itself?

Natural History Museum's Darwin Centre can rival the dinosaurs
At first glance it looks like something that a Tyrannosaurus rex might hatch from. White, polished, slightly lop-sided and measuring some 60 metres long by 28 metres high, the new Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum is egg-like and faintly menacing. In a terribly stylish, architectural way, of course.
