Sir David Arculus, former chief executive of Emap and ex-chairman of O2, has been appointed chairman of Aldermore, the new independent bank focused on lending to small businesses.
Royal Bank of Scotland's former head of wealth management John Baines is joining as finance director. Aldermore is backed by specialist private-equity firm AnaCap and Morgan Stanley.
