BA ex bosses face charges on price fixing

Four current and former executives at British airways could face jail after it emerged the Office of Four Trading is set to bring criminal charges accusing them of price-fixing.

The charges are the first in a cartel probe to target executives at such a high-profile company and could lead to sentences of up to five years.

Former commercial director Martin George, head of sales Andrew Crawley, ex-head of UK sales Alan Burnett and former communications director Iain Burns are to be charged with colluding with Virgin Atlantic to fix the price of so-called fuel surcharges in air fares.
