Cenkos stays cautious despite rise in revenues

City broking firm Cenkos saw revenues rise 31% last year, despite challenging conditions in financial markets and a slowdown in companies joining the stock market.

The group is adviser to more AIM companies than any other firm.

Cenkos's pre-tax profits edged ahead by 5% to £14.5 million on revenues of £60.3 million.

Chief executive Simon Melling said: "We remain cautious regarding the general economy for the rest of this year. Confidence levels are still delicate, fuelled by concerns about the Middle East, the strength of the global economy and the potential for a second recession in the UK.
