Delta Lloyd sell-off disappoints Aviva

On the day Royal Bank of Scotland said that it hopes to float its insurance businesses on the stock market, rival insurer Aviva saw a disappointing sell-off of its Dutch business Delta Lloyd.

The shares were priced at 16 which was the bottom end of the 15-19 range set two weeks ago and immediately fell to a discount. The shares fell 55 cents on Euronext to 15.45. Aviva raised 1 billion (£898.4 million) from the sell-off.
