Drugs firms sick of Britain’s rules

More than three quarters of Britain's pharmaceuticals firms see the UK as an "unattractive place to do business", according to research into the industry which contributed £6 billion in trade surplus to the economy last year.

A survey of UK drugs firms by the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry found that most believe the environment in the country is making life "increasingly difficult" for drugmakers, which sustain 25,000 UK jobs.

Richard Lambert, director-general of the CBI, said: "This survey reveals real concerns about the UK's regulatory climate."
