EDF set to pull in £5bn for network

EDF has been offered more than £5 billion for its UK distribution network.

Cheung Kong Infrastructure and a consortium led by Australia's Macquarie are among the bidders, Bloomberg reported.

The utility is selling the business to pay down debt run up from its purchase of British Energy in 2008 and finance plans to build nuclear power plants here.
