End of the line for Miss Sixty

Fashion chain Miss Sixty has crashed into administration as it became the latest victim of the carnage on the High Street.

Sixty UK, which trades as Miss Sixty and Energie in Britain and has 12 stores, went insolvent after failing to repay a loan from Italian parent Sixty Group.

The retailer fell foul of expansion plans gone wrong as well as a slump in High Street sales as hard-up shoppers cut back spending.

Peter Hollis of Vantis Business Recovery Services was called in as administrator and said it was business as usual at the stores — for now. So far, there have been no redundancies.

He said: "We are not looking to sell any of the business at this stage.

"But it may need to be restructured into a different group and one or two stores may not continue.

"The business is currently operating as normal with all stores remaining open and supplies to concessions and independents unaffected."
