Huntsworth benefits as ad budgets cut

Huntsworth, the public relations group that includes Citigate Dewe Rogerson and The Red Consultancy, has seen a 40% drop in one-off work for financial clients countered by a surge from consumer companies using more PR to keep their products in front of the public as they cut advertising budgets.

First-half revenues rose 14% to £80.5 million, with profits up 22% at £12.2 million. Each figure is virtually half the target for the full year, and 63% of next year's committed revenues are already in the bag.

Chairman Peter Chadlington said: "Strong trading has continued into July and August."
The dividend rises 8% to 0.7p.
