Minerva seals £150m deal on City tower

One of the largest office developments planned in the City moved a step closer to reality today after property group Minerva struck a £150 million construction deal with Skanska.

The deal effectively gave the St Botolph's office development - a 560,000 square foot scheme near Aldgate - the green light after speculation it could be in doubt. Minerva's shares have tumbled almost 80% in the past year.

It has already secured insurance broker Lockton International as a tenant for part of the building, and there has also been interest from newspaper publisher News International.
