Refunds for 'handful' of Crown Currency Exchange victims
19 October 2010
A handful of customers who lost money in the collapse of travel money company Crown Currency Exchange could get all their cash back, the administrators said today.
This applies only to customers who placed foreign exchange orders with Crown between September 29 when Barclays froze its bank accounts and October 4 when it was put into administration.
The administrators could not immediately say how many of Crown's 13,000 victims this would apply to but stressed it was likely to be "only a handful".
They may also have to test the matter in court to see if these few customers rank above other unsecured creditors.
