Renishaw pay cut workers facing axe

An engineering firm whose workers took a 20% pay cut because of the recession today told 500 of them they are likely to lose their jobs.

Renishaw, which makes measuring equipment, expects to make a loss of £10 million in the six months to June.

Most of the 500 redundancies will fall in the UK, where it employs 1500.
