            Mr Scruff

Not just hip-hop: Mr Scruff entertains his legions of followers at Koko

Look here too

Popular Scratch Pervert turntablist Mr Scruff, DJ Cash Money and the rotund figure of Chicago House pioneer DJ Sneak are all in action over the weekend.

Mr Scruff
Koko, NW1
The longtime Scratch Pervert turntablist has built up quite a following over the past few years. How many other British hip-hop DJs could fill a venue of this size on their own? Perhaps it's because he's not just a hip-hop DJ, but one who mashes up an amazing array of music (reggae, disco, funk, rock) in a breathtaking hip-hop style.
(0870 4325 527). Sat 12 May, 9pm-3am.

Fidgit
Plan B

Things are going from strength to strength at the Brixton party where hip hop, R&B and bashment reign. There's a real treat tonight in the form of guest headliner DJ Cash Money. Involved in rap since pretty close to its very beginnings, the Philadelphia resident is considered one of the godfathers of hip-hop DJ-ing. And, trust me, he can still rock a party.
(020 7924 0480). Tonight, 9pm-5am.

BOSH! Presents
The Fly, WC1
Lovers of emo noisecore will be pleased to see a live set from Ratt-At-Agg, while more on-stage antics come from Canadian new rave act Fake Shark Real Zombie at this fun, eclectic party. Resident DJs Fallout and Tapedeck can be expected to throw on a selection including the Klaxons, Pantera, Jay-Z, Kelis and Shitdisco.
(020 7631 0862). Tonight, 7.30pm-2am.

Just the One vs Back to Basics
SEOne Club, SE1

The rotund figure of Chicago House pioneer DJ Sneak will loom into view in this subterranean lair at the climax of a cracking night hosted jointly by legendary Leeds rave spot Back to Basics and those paragons of disco moderation at www.justtheonelondon.com. Sneak's hard, electro-edged beats sit well alongside those of Ralph Lawson in the main room. Lisa Loud and Harji occupy the second arch, while room three hosts house from Pumpafunk and Kriss Darang vs Jnr J.
(020 7407 1617). Sat 12 May, 10pm-6am.

Lost and Found
Madame Jo Jo's, W1
Keb Darge plays a rare selection of Northern Soul, old-school R&B, rockabilly and ska. He's helped out by Andy Smith of Portishead fame.
(020 7734 3040). Sat 12 May, 10pm-3am.
