Tonight sees a particularly hot hip-hop line-up in Shoreditch with top London rapper Kano picking up the mic at the top of the bill. Foreign Beggars also take to the stage and DJ Yoda provides some scratch-tastic deck-work. There's also breaks-based mayhem from the Stanton Warriors.

It's an historic event in King's Cross as the fabled New York party comes to London for the first time. And who would be manning the turntables but Body & Soul founders, Joe Claussell, Francois K and Danny Krivit? Our new Prime Minister would doubtless approve of the family values embodied by the night, since, such is the friendliness of the atmosphere created by the party's loved-up house music, many married couples are said to have met on their dancefloor.

50,000 dance lovers are preparing for disco heaven to come to Stratford in a fortnight. Headline acts are Basement Jaxx, Faithless and new kid on the rave podium, Calvin Harris. With diverse crowd-pleasers such as Hot Chip, Fedde Le Grand, The Shapeshifters and Kissy Sell Out, there really is something for everyone. But as ever, the demographic that will be catered for especially thoroughly is the glo-stick-wielding rave crowd, who enjoy the tougher side of house music. They should be satisfied by appearances from BK, Rob Tissera, Judge Jules and Dave Pearce. What's more - and for many, this will be every bit as exciting as knowing that legends Carl Cox and Sasha are to appear - this year's event is the first to feature hot showers.
