The fun doesn't have to stop just because the parade has come to an end - check out our guide to the carnival clubs.

La Bomba promises to be the stickiest, sexiest and steamiest of all Carnival club nights, as London's young, Latin American communities wind their hips to reggaeton, Latin and US hip hop, and neck-snapping dancehall with Puerto Rico's DJ Metro, a pioneer of the Latin urban scene that has emerged this decade. There's salsa and merengue for traditionalists, as well as funky and Latin house.

The SoulBrew crew are putting on a boat party for Carnival, with Spin Doctor, Andy Bird and Brad Baloo (Nextmen) providing jaunty hip hop, funk, soul, reggae, dancehall, disco and house.

While YoYo this year hasn't secured a performance from Lily Allen, the intimate sweaty club has a PA from jungle-breakbeat pioneers The Ragga Twins and DJ Sinden, who's leading the house-dancehall-baile funk revolution.

MoreAboutMusic is a bargain at £5 for ten hours of music: the Sheffield label will showcase hip hop, funk and Afrostep from DJ Kestrel (Friends & Family) and DJ Gigolo on Sunday, while Monday features future soul, broken beat, electro-bass from Phil Asher, Lyrical L, Simbad and new producers Small Arms Fi Ya.

The Masons Arms' annual Garden Party features The Dub Pistols Soundsystem and Faith's Stu Patterson's house on Sunday, while Monday sees Ashley Beedle (hopefully playing some obscure reggae treats), Lottie, dance music comedy trio The Cuban Brothers, and Justin Robertson. It's a good call to check out Carnival until late afternoon and then do these to closing time. That way you miss the epic queues when the static sound systems shut at 7pm and a few hundred thousand people battle their way home.
