Infinite Variety is all about Miss Cupcake

Despite publicity describing it as “a savagely opulent cabaret for the 21st century”, Infinite Variety is a showcase for neo-burlesque chanteuse Polly Cupcake, who can sing a sultry torch song and do the splits at the same time.
Miss Cupcake is supported by high-heeled Bowie lookalike La John Joseph and clown-haired Gemma Whelan, who offer nifty camp relief with a mix of rubber-legged dancing and toy bunny-ripping between the smutty ballads and Cramps cover versions. Entertaining, good-humoured and cheeky — if a bit thin on the variety factor.

Smashing fun! I was expecting more nakedness, because of Whoopee's rep for burlesque, but it was still a very sexy show! There are a lot of really good cover songs in the show, but I like the original songs even better! This is definitely a lot of fun, I think the cast are all very talented and look like they really are enjoying it.

I personally loved this little show along with my girlfriends. The band rocked and as for Miss Polly cupcake "well" she's s little star in the making!! I loved everything about the show and am looking to go again before the end of the run.

I went to see Infinite Variety last week after reading your review and I agree! So refreshing to see something so utterly different. I had no idea what to expect and instead of that disarming me, I decided to sit back and let it take me on a ride! I was moved, amused and turned on at times! There were bewilderingly beautiful moments, odd times but mostly thoroughly entertaining! As a well seasoned cabaret fan, I can't believe I've never seen Miss Cupcake before! She is a femme Iggy Pop, rock star goddess come aerialist come sex kitten! La John Joseph is hilariously dry in his delivery of self penned songs and Gemma Whelan brings a hint of the West End in with her triple threat of talents! I thoroughly recommend it for those who appreciate something a bit different.

This show was not what I expected from a company known for cabaret and burlesque (thank goodness). It is infact a delightful well delivered show of songs with Polly Cupcake at the helm. Cupcake is a formidable talent - why have i never seen her before ? The show has a kind of end of the world almost melancholic feel which is lifted by beautiful numbers from Gemma Whelan and reinforced by La John Joseph's catchy songs about death. It is however a feel good piece and the last song leaves you wanting to see more of the three talented performers as well as the inhouse band.

Mediocre at best. Polly Cupcake had a good voice but doing the splits didnt make them sound any better and the various pieces seemed very random with not much to connect them. Some of the comedy was a bit lame. But I did enjoy Gemma who has many baried talents and an appealing personality.
Probaly enjoyable if you are intent on habing a good time but dont expect anything too speactacular

Brilliant fun!
I took a few friends with me and somehow (luckily for us) got given the cabaret tables which made it even more exciting, my mates got to interact with the main characters which made it a lot more entertaining.
We all totally recommend it!

Definitely a lot of fun... Perhaps not infinitely various, but the three performers and particularly the band were excellent. Nice little venue too.

This show is amazing, and so much fun. I took my best mate for her birthday and we had such a great time. The 3 performers were sassy and funny and were accompanied by the most incredible band. I'm considering going again with my mum!
