BBC Children in Need is back on Friday 20 November, celebrating 30 years of fundraising for disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. The evening of entertainment will be supported by a myriad of stars and hosted by Sir Terry Wogan.
While the seven-hour TV extravaganza is broadcast on BBC One, thousands of volunteers will be working in more than 50 call centres around the UK including a virtual call centre' at the BT Tower in London. These dedicated people answer calls to the BT-enabled donation line, 0345 733 2233.
In fact, BT handled more than 240,000 calls during last year's telethon, helping to raise more than £20m on the night!
BT has been an integral supporter of BBC Children in Need since 1980, providing the telephone network, call centres and online support the charity needs to handle the public's generous contributions. The public gave over £8.4m in online donations during the 2008 telethon.
