Bag a micro scooter and scoot for charity
10 November 2009
Micro Scooters Ltd has team up with After Adoption for its Hyde Park 10K, taking place on Sunday 15th November, to offer children the opportunity to get involved and scoot for After Adoption', with Olympic triathlete and British National Champion 2008 and 2009, Will Clarke, also taking to the streets in aid of the charity.
The event marks the end of National Adoption Week 2009 and Will Clarke and the hundreds of other runners will start the After Adoption Hyde Park 10K at 10am, which will be followed at 12 noon by the charity scooter races.
A maximum of 200 child places will be available for the races, which are open to kids between the ages of 3-11 years old and places will be awarded on a first come first served basis. There will be a number of Micro Scooter races for different age groups, with the first race starting at 12pm. The scoots will cover distances of between 200m and 1km according to age categories. Entry costs just £5 per child and prizes will be awarded to top scoot-ers. Helmets and protective pads are recommended. To find out more information, please visit: www.micro-scooters.co.uk
To celebrate its involvement and encourage as many kids as possible to get scooting, Micro Scooters Ltd, the sole distributors for the UK's best selling scooters for young kids, is offering two lucky winners the chance to win either a Mini Micro Scooter which is suitable for kids aged 3-5 years or a Maxi Micro Scooter, available either with a traditional T-bar handle or a newly styled joystick' handle and suitable for kids aged 6-11 years old.
Between them, these two scooters have earned their place as the coolest form of transport for younger children on three wheels. Their high quality Swiss design makes scooting fun and easy for youngsters who love the independence and sense of achievement these Micro Scooters give them. Their 3-wheel construction (two in front) and a low-to-the-ground flexible footboard allows maximum control and stability, and a unique lean-and-steer design enables kids to use their body weight to effortlessly guide their direction and enjoy a smooth skateboard like' ride.
Parents have also quickly become devoted fans, as the scooters are fantastic for promoting kids' independence, enhancing their balance, coordination and gross motor skills, and for making exercise fun. The scooter is lightweight to carry and easy to store. It is also a great way of going green' encouraging parents and kids alike to forego four-wheel transport in favour of three for daily local jaunts – or micro journey's' as Micro Scooters likes to term them!
