Emma Maclaren has had a busy first year in fashion. Spotted at the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham, the 17-year-old from Worcester has spent the last 11 months dashing from one glamorous destination to another (Tulum in Mexico, for an American Glamour shoot, was a particular high point), doing campaigns for Cacharel's Amor Amor scent, MAC and Emanuel Ungaro and an almost unheard-of 26 catwalk shows in her first season, for everyone from Lanvin to Jil Sander, Givenchy, John Galliano and Marc Jacobs.

When it comes to coats, she knows exactly what she likes: 'I saw a very fitted, black military-style coat in the Vanessa Bruno autumn/winter collection that I loved. I did her spring/summer show in Paris and all the girls were given a handbag afterwards, with a voucher inside for the store. I really want to go to Paris again soon so I can go back and buy it.'
