Inside Out: Frank Lampard

'At Chelsea we have a nutritionist and all our food is provided for us. I tend to stick to lots of chicken, fish and salad. I need a good balance of carbohydrates and lots of protein after training.'

For those of us who can't spend two hours on a football pitch and another hour in the gym, Frank's tips to staying fit and healthy are: 'Find something you enjoy doing as you'll stick at it longer; wear the right shoes when you're training as that can have a massive effect on your results; and vary what you do so you don't get bored.'

Frank Lampard is an Adidas ambassador for fitness (

Who would join you for a sofa supper?

My two daughters, Luna, two, and Isla, one.

What would you eat?

A pasta dish, something simple like penne arrabiata.

What's for pudding?

Apple crumble.

And to drink?

Diet Pepsi.

What is on the TV?

Dora the Explorer - the girls love it.

What are your five favourite places to eat in London?

For Japanese food you can't beat
Zuma in Knightsbridge. The sushi is excellent, as is the Wagyu beef.

Italian food is my favourite and it's great for preparing for a match or getting back energy afterwards, so the rest of my choices are all Italian restaurants. I love the chicken Milanese at Scalini in Knightsbridge. They do it for me served with a large portion of spicy penne. It's a great place, too; really buzzy. When I first moved to Chelsea I lived next door, which was handy.

Carpaccio on Sydney Street in Chelsea is really traditional and the owner, Guido, brings over a fantastic selection of starters for me.

Cipriani in Mayfair is the perfect place to go with a group of people. The atmosphere is always loud and fun.

Lucio on the Fulham Road has excellent service and the owner, Lucio, is a wonderful host. It has a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere and the menu changes daily.
