The Urban Caprice Canapé Club, part of Richard Caring's empire, offers you the chance to learn how to make a range of canapés and mini dishes that are brilliant for entertaining - you will amaze your friends. The winter menu includes everything from partridge on toast to truffled Brie de Meaux gougère and Armagnac prune chocolate truffles. Learn to rustle up all these little wonders next Saturday, 22 November, at the Urban Caprice kitchens, 63-65 Goldney Road, W9. £95 per person (020 7432 8659).
A new food counter, RAW (Really Amazing Wonderfoods), has opened in the Selfridges Food Hall, selling - as the name suggests - nothing but raw foods (fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts, herbs, spices and grains), packed with natural flavours, vitamins and minerals. It's fresh, simple, healthy food with no additives or preservatives. The aim is to provide food naturally high in digestive enzymes and vitamins. As they say, if you don't need to cook it, then don't (0800 123 400).
There's a delicious new olive oil in town, made by Raoul's deli and café; owner Geraldine Leventis. The oil is made from the trees that grow on her estate in the Greek Peloponnese and is the greenest olive oil I've ever seen (from £4 for 330ml). Raoul's is wonderful - there's a long queue around the corner every weekend. Raoul's, 10 Clifton Road, W9 (020 7289 6649).
