Tom Aikens: Food Spy

In 2009 I think more and more people will be cooking at home as opposed to eating out. So I think you will increasingly find half-prepared dishes that just need finishing off and cooking at home. Most of the supermarkets are already doing prepared food to cook at home, but the other brilliant solution is to order everything online.

My favourite sites include
www.fortnumandmason.com and, of course,
www.marksandspencer.com.

The menu at the café at KX gym in SW3 has been developed by their resident experts, including personal trainers and nutritionists. I recommend the seven-vegetable salad, with carrots, asparagus, cherry tomatoes, avocado, Portobello mushrooms, soya beans and red beets, and the sirloin steak, served tagliata style, with a rocket and soya bean salad. It's worth getting the gym membership for the café alone and it's the best way I can think of to detox this January - they even offer a handy takeaway service (www.kxgym.co.uk).

Something for children... Little Dish ready meals are made with natural ingredients, hand-prepared, and created with the help of a paediatric dietician. There is no sugar or salt in the recipes, and no preservatives, additives or E numbers. Add the fact that they source ingredients from some of the UK's best suppliers and you can be confident that you're feeding your child nothing but fresh, natural good food. New dishes this winter include chicken and butternut squash pie and a sausage hot pot. The range is available at Tesco, Ocado and Waitrose (www.littledish.co.uk).

Give your breakfast bowl a Rude awakening, with Rude Health's revamped range of delicious organic muesli and porridge recipes. The range includes a superb choice of flavours, all of which are incredibly tasty and include no added sugar or salt. I think the new Morning Glory Organic Porridge and The Ultimate Organic Muesli are well worth getting out of bed for (www.rudehealth.com).
