Vintage year for London Fashion Weekend

This is London
29 Jan 2007

Following on from London Fashion Week, London Fashion Weekend promises to provide a unique experience for dedicated followers of fashion.

Collections from over 130 London Fashion Week designers will be on sale at greatly reduced prices and there'll be a catwalk theatre featuring live fashion shows to showcase this season's trends.

Vintage Village is a new addition this year, featuring one-off vintage pieces, as is the Boutique - a selection of London's hottest boutiques including Austique, Simultané, Brittique, Paul & Joe and The Cross.

Visitors will be offered up-to-the-minute fashion and beauty advice direct from the experts with Elizabeth Arden providing make-over and beauty consultations and Toni&Guy demonstrating the latest hair colours and styles hot off the catwalk.

Stressed-out shoppers will get the chance to unwind with a complimentary cocktail in the Campari Red Room or a smooothie ice-cream in the Skinny Cow Bar and Philips will be offering a free personal shopping service to take the hassle out of hunting down those bargains.

London Fashion Weekend is at the Natural History Museum from 22-25 February. To book tickets, call the ticket hotline on 0870 890 0097 or visit www.londonfashionweekend.co.uk.

I went to London Fashion Weekend last night, I've been many times before but never to Sommerset House, and never again to this venue. Sommerset house is lovely but not in my mind the right place for this event. I think a lot of the designers that used to show were not present, not surprisingly, I think they may have given up too. The venue is a rabbit warren of pokey rooms stuffed with disorintated people and racks of clothes, very hard to see anything properly and long ques to pay. I had to que several times because I thought I would never find my way back to pick up my item (I only purchased some jewelery). Please bring back the Natural History Museum.
