Pee Wee Ellis Assembly featuring Fred Wesley

Musical director to the late, great James Brown, Pee Wee Ellis is bringing his funky sounding jazz to Ronnie Scott's.

The saxophonist, who also worked with Van Morrison for six years, appears at the famous venue alongside trombonist Fred Wesley, another pivotal member of Brown's bands.

Wesley's 35-year career has seen him play with an eclectic range of artists including Ray Charles, Vanessa Williams and rappers De La Soul.

Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, 47 Frith Street, W1D. From 22 to 24 February. From 6pm. Tickets cost £26. Tel: 020 7439 0747 or visit www.ronniescotts.co.uk
