Jarvis heads for Meltdown

Tickets for Jarvis Cocker's Meltdown go on sale on Thursday.

As artistic director of the eight-day event at the Royal Festival Hall, the former Pulp front man has assembled an enticing line-up of artists.

Motörhead will launch the event on Saturday 16 June with a performance of classic hits, followed by music from Canadian-born pianist Gonzales.

Iggy Pop & The Stooges will also be making a live appearance on Wednesday 20 June and the London Philharmonic Orchestra will perform music by Academy award-winning film score composer John Barry on Thursday 21 June.

Other highlights include experimental theatre from Forced Entertainment on Tuesday 19 June and a re-working of classic Disney songs by Jarvis Cocker and Hal Willner on Sunday 17 June.
